| This is a painting of my husband at four years old. He was walking in his village in Lebanon, wearing his favorite "Bonanza" hat and proudly carrying a pigeon he'd found. A man happened by with a camera and Elie asked him to take his picture. Over 25 years later, his favorite photo resurfaced and I finally got a glimpse of him as a child. ~ When I discovered how much I loved painting and wanted nothing more than to paint, Elie challenged me to paint his portrait from this old, yellowed and cracked photo. I'd never painted a portrait before, but was excited to try. He has been my biggest supporter ever since! Shortly after completing this painting, I started taking classes in oil painting. |
